Nerissa Picadizo receives “Ani Ng Dangal” award

ASTRAY film director/producer Nerissa Picadizo was one of the awardees at “The 7th ANI NG DANGAL” Awards (Harvest of Honors); a presidential award given to recognize and celebrate Filipino talents who have earned international awards and accolades.

Spearheaded by The National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA), the awarding was held at the Old Senate Session Hall of the National Museum of the Philippines last February 12, 2015.

Iconic actress and Batangas governor Vilma Santos leads this year’s roster of 54 Ani ng Dangal honorees. Other internationally acclaimed honorees include Leonardo Katigbak of ABS-CBN and GMA News TV’s Bayan Ko and Patricia Evangelista in the broadcast arts; in cinema Siege Ledesma’s Shift, Ronnie Quizon, Lav Diaz, Will Fredo Jake Cuenca, Allen Dizon, Mark Justine Aguillon, Nerissa Picadizo, Roberto Reyes Ang’s TNT, Sandy Talag, Eduardo Roy Jr.’s Quick Change and Miggs Cuaderno.

Picadizo honoree at “The 5th INDIE BRAVO! Awards”

Film Director Nerissa Picadizo was one of the honorees of The 5th INQUIRER INDIE BRAVO! Awards last December 11, 2014 held at the Philippine Daily Inquirer. “Inquirer Indie Bravo” is a tribute to Filipino filmmakers and actors who brought home awards from various international film festivals.

Other honorees were filmmakers Brillante Mendoza, Lav Diaz, Maryo J. de los Reyes, Joel Lamangan and actors Vilma Santos, Jake Cuenca, Sid Lucero, Allen Dizon to name a few.

Nerissa Picadizo wins “Best Indie Producer”

Director/Producer Nerissa Picadizo won the “Best Indie Producer” for ASTRAY in the shorts category at the recently concluded International Film Festival Manhattan. The Awards Night last October 23, 2014 was held at the Philippine Consulate General in Manhattan, New York.

Other Filipino winners of the festival are Jake Cuenca for Best Actor in “Mulat”, Liza Dino for Best Actress in “In Nomine Matris”, Mark Justine Aguillon for Best Actor short in “Traffic Light”, Best Ensemble Short went to Roberto Reyes Ang’s “TNT” starring Perry Escano, Diane Ventura for Best Director Global in “Mulat” and director Will Fredo’s “In Nomine Matris” grabbed the Best Feature Film title.

Nerissa Picadizo, a 2016 “Sangguniang Bayan Awardee”

Nerissa Picadizo was bestowed as a “Sangguniang Bayan Awardee” (in the field of Arts/Filmmaking) by the government of Angono, Rizal. The Sangguniang Bayan award is the highest honor given by a local government to its Outstanding Citizen.

The award was given by government officials of Angono headed by Mayor Gerry Calderon, Vice-Mayor Antonio Rubin and all the councilors of Angono, Rizal. The awarding rites was held last August 19, 2016 at the SM Angono Event Center.

ASTRAY at the International Film Festival Manhattan

“Big or small victories need to be celebrated” according to Davis Phinney. With that, I’m deeply happy to announce that ASTRAY is an Official Selection at the International Film Festival Manhattan (IFFM) in New York this October 2014.

Rising proverbially like the phoenix; after spilling literal blood, sweat & tears and the arduous long wait, I’m simply grateful that people will finally get to see this ‘little baby’…THANK YOU SO MUCH to EVERYONE who helped and supported us to make ASTRAY happened esp. to those who stood by me through thick and thin…thank you for still being ‘there’…

ASTRAY” will have its World Premiere on October 25, 2014; 12:00pm – 2:00pm together with the other short films of Program 5 of IFFM. Screening venue is at the Producer’s Club (The Grand Theater) 358 West 44th Street New York, NY 10036 (almost 9th Ave) conveniently located at the Times Square Area of Manhattan, NYC.
